Biography

Being a native of New York, it took me quite a lot of time, East and Greenwich village experience and day-and-night painting practice to understand, that turning the painting from a mere hobby to a full-time employment day job is what I actually need to do with my life!

Initially getting my B.A. from Boston College and studying Fine Arts painting at Lorenzo de’ Medici University in Florence. Later on, I eventually succeeded in complete my M.F.A at the New York Academy of Art, Graduate School of Figurative Art in 2001.

Afterward, I started teaching art at the universities and miscellaneous art institutions throughout the US, and soon I became a substitute professor at the New York Academy of Art.

In the meantime, my paintings that started were started in Italy and finished in the US have become the subject of many different solo and group exhibitions including “Intimacy” at the Kunst Museum in Ahlen, Germany and “Reconfiguring the Body in American Art, 1820-2009” at the National Academy Museum of Fine Arts, New York. Thankfully, people seem to like what I paint, so my works oftentimes  end up hanging in either public or private collection, including the Savannah College of Arts, the Somerset Art Association and the renown and expansive collections of Howard Tull, Danielle Peele, and Eric Hen.

“But my only sincere intention is to simply transfer the intimacy and vulnerability of my human experience into a painted surface”
